Revisiting This Session

The interim of my relocation to the Nashville area in Tennessee

I am scrolling through my blog, doing all the business-y things to it, trying to get myself ready to “open” for sessions again. This session was almost a year ago, off by a couple weeks I think. I don’t miss Okinawa in the way I miss England, but it is a special place to me. I did raise my babies there for 1 year and 9 months, so that’s something, right?

Oh, the heart pulls me towards mothering sessions. I just love them. I know women are capable of being so much “more” than a mother, but is there really anything more important than being their mother? This is of course for women who do have children. If you don’t have kiddos, by all means enjoy that freedom and journey and do all the things guilt free.

But if you do have kids, then you know what I mean about the “mom guilt”. That’s there to remind us that mothering is so damn important, I mean, we are raising small little humans who look to us for all their physical and emotional needs! We don’t wanna eff that up, do we?!

I’ve seen a lot of meme’s lately about “You Are Enough”. Of course you are, but if you’re like me, sometimes that guilt is there, because it is shining a light on some kind of neglected area. That’s ok, just listen to it. Us moms, we juggle a lot, and there will always be something we’re dropping, neglecting. Our heart though knows when it is time to drop the other stuff and hang out with the kiddies. You know what I mean? So, we are enough, but we aren’t perfect, so I don’t want to ignore that guilt (when it’s right and not there just for torment) and use it as a guide.

I’ve got a little food poisoning today, so I’ve spent the ENTIRE day in bed and on this computer catching up on lots, but I know tomorrow, I need to be with my 3, since they’ve spent the whole day with Mario and Harry Potter ;)
